Author Guidelines
General Considerations for Manuscript Preparation and Submission
The journal of New Geopolitics Research (NGR) evaluates manuscripts falling within the domain of political geography. Additionally, submissions from related fields, such as international relations, political science, strategic studies, and other allied disciplines, are also considered for review, provided they adopt a political-geographical approach.
Submitted manuscripts must present original research conducted by the author(s) and must demonstrably contribute to the advancement of new knowledge and scholarly understanding. The journal welcomes articles derived from doctoral dissertations, outstanding master's theses, and independent research projects, provided they adhere to the established research principles and methodologies pertinent to the field.
The journal also encourages theoretical contributions that either propose novel scientific theories or offer rigorous scholarly critiques and analyses of existing theoretical frameworks by distinguished scholars and experts.
Manuscripts submitted to this journal must not have been previously published elsewhere, nor should they be simultaneously under consideration by any other publication. Authors are required to submit a signed written commitment affirming this condition alongside their manuscript.
Conference papers may be considered for review, provided they have undergone substantial revisions and include significant new content.
Submissions in Persian are accepted.
In manuscripts with multiple authors, one individual must be designated as the corresponding author. In the absence of such designation, the first-listed author will be regarded as the corresponding author.
Authors are kindly requested to download the "Author Commitment and Conflict of Interest Form" from the “Required Forms” section of the journal's website, complete it, and upload both the signed form and the main manuscript file through the online submission system.
To avoid delays in the peer-review process, authors are strongly urged to observe the following considerations carefully.
Articles adapted from student theses will be published jointly under the names of the student, advisor, and consultants (if any), with the primary academic responsibility resting with the thesis advisor.
Manuscript Structure
All submissions must be prepared using the B Mitra font, size 13, with single line spacing, and should not exceed 17 pages (approximately 7,000–10,000 words). Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s online system at https://nrpg.lu.ac.ir.
Research manuscripts must include the following structural elements, presented in the specified order:

Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
The following guidelines must be observed in the preparation of tables, figures, and maps:
a. Data presented in tables should not be duplicated in figures or graphs within the same manuscript. Table numbers and titles must appear above each table (B Mitra font, size 10, bold), while figure and map numbers and titles must be placed below (B Mitra font, size 10, bold). If adopted from external sources, a proper reference must be cited beneath the table or figure. All visual elements must be sized proportionally to fit the journal’s page dimensions.
b. Each table column must carry an appropriate heading and its corresponding unit of measurement. If all values in the table share the same unit, the unit may be indicated once in the table title.
c. All maps and images must be clear, legible, properly scaled, and of suitable resolution. Should color printing be required for maps or figures, associated costs will be billed separately to the author(s).
d. The font used within tables must be B Mitra, size 10, light.
Whenever possible, the DOI of cited electronic sources must be included at the end of the reference entry (e.g., https://doi.org/10.22034/nrpg.2.1.1).
All received manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening before entering the formal peer-review process. Final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection rest with the Editorial Board.
The journal reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions to any submission and does not return submitted manuscripts under any circumstances.
Authors bear full legal responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the content presented in their manuscripts.
