Abstract
This research traces the political and geographical history of the Green Line during its different stages of development. This research analyzes the strange marking of this line and the way this border has affected the local people and has led to the economic and social displacement of thousands of people. In fact, using descriptive and analytical method, the present article examines the political importance of this line before and after the six-day war of June 1967 based on the analysis of library sources and explores the administrative and legal status of this line viewing the issue from both internal (Israeli and Palestinian) and external (international community) perspectives. Therefore, the present research investigates the importance of this line in determining the routing of the built wall/obstacle/fence/barrier/security as well as the importance of the deviations created between these two lines in the daily life of thousands of people who are spatial hostages caught between these two lines. The results of the research show that before the 1930s, there was no talk of partition within the Palestinian territories in the west of the Jordan River. The de facto partition of 1949 as a result of the creation of Israel, the subsequent conflict, and cease-fire agreements took place in less than sixty years. During those sixty years, the Green Line was a sealed border for nineteen years. Since then, it has been an administrative barrier in the area controlled and occupied by Israel.
